A modular approach to treating wastewater

The Biogreen system is fortified with fast-acting, proven, environmentally friendly organic agents that biodegrade waste. Safe natural agents are introduced into the anaerobic and aerobic modules, eliminating unpleasant odours, liquefying residual sludge and destroying pathogens. Oxygen enters the secondary segments without expensive mechanical methods, and sterilization is achieved naturally.

The modules in detail

Fortified Clarifier Module

Clarifies grey water, biodegrades organic oils and grease, and reduces scum formation in the treatment system.

  • Trapping of oil, grease and scum
  • Biodegradation of organic oil, grease and scum
  • Eliminates clogging and blockage of external plumbing works
  • Improved biodegradation of the effluent entering the aerobic filter

Fortified Primary Treatment Module

Where biodegradation and initial treatment of blackwater takes place.

  • Complete breakdown of effluent, making further treatment easier
  • Elimination of foul odour
  • No fill, no exhaustion
  • Economical use of space
  • Natural treatment — no harmful chemicals or electro-mechanical means

Fortified Distribution Module

The point of integration between blackwater and greywater.

  • Regulates and dams the flow into the aerobic filter
  • Serves as an inspection and control point
  • Secondary treatment point for toilet and kitchen wastewater
  • Primary treatment point for bath and laundry wastewater
  • Feeds either a drainfield or the fortified aerobic filter

Fortified Aerobic Filter (FAF) Module

Combines biodegradation and mechanical filtration in one unit.

  • Controls and increases dissolved oxygen levels
  • Treatment of effluent into re-usable water
  • Filtration and purification of the effluent
  • Elimination of foul smell and colour
  • Elimination of pathogens

UV Treatment Module

Ultraviolet sterilization as the final barrier before discharge or reuse.

  • Small footprint
  • No chemical disinfection — no residuals or by-products
  • Pathogens cannot develop a resistance
  • Instantly neutralizes and eliminates harmful bacteria

Tested, approved and listed

The Biogreen Waste Water Treatment System is scientifically tested and proven to meet all set-out environmental standards, evidenced by test results from a NEMA-approved lab. It is one of only a few systems approved and listed by the National Environment Management Authority for wastewater management.
